# Changing Eggs

### Access the Settings Menu

1. Log in to the **Ridgeline Servers Control Panel** at [https://panel.ridgelineservers.com/](https://panel.ridgelineservers.com/).
2. From your server dashboard, click on your server to open its management interface.
3. Navigate to the **Settings** tab in the left-hand menu.

### Change the Egg

1. In the **Settings** tab, locate the **Change Egg** section.
2. Use the dropdown menu to select the new egg you want to use.  
    For example: 
    - **PaperMC** for optimized performance.
    - **Forge** for running modded servers.
    - **Vanilla** for an unmodified Minecraft experience.
3. Click **Apply** to confirm the change.

### Restart Your Server

1. Navigate to the **Console** tab in the panel.
2. Click **Restart** to apply the new egg configuration to your server.

### Notes on Switching Eggs

- **Data Preservation**: Changing the egg does not delete your existing world or files. However, certain server types (like modded vs. vanilla) may require adjustments to your world or mods to ensure compatibility.
- **Compatibility**: Ensure the selected egg matches the server type you want to run. For example, a modded world will not run properly on a Vanilla server type.
- **Advanced Control**: Changing eggs gives you greater control over the server’s configuration but is not typically required for most setups.
