# Installing The Mods

### **Step 1: Check Your Server Type**

1. Log into the [Ridgeline Servers Control Panel](https://panel.ridgelineservers.com/).
2. Navigate to your server and check the server type under **Settings**.
3. If needed, reinstall your server with the **Forge** or **Fabric** type.

### **Step 2: Download the Mods**

1. Visit trusted mod repositories like CurseForge or Modrinth.
2. Download `.jar` files for the mods you want to install.
3. Ensure all mods are for the correct Minecraft version and server type.

### **Step 3: Upload Mods to the Server**

1. Log into the **Ridgeline Servers Control Panel**.
2. Navigate to **Files > mods**.
3. Use the **Upload** button to add your mod `.jar` files to the **mods** folder.

### **Step 4: Restart Your Server**

1. Return to the **Console** tab in the control panel.
2. Restart your server to load the mods.
3. Check the console logs for any errors related to the mods.

### **Step 5: Test the Mods**

1. Join your server in Minecraft and test the mods to ensure they’re working correctly.
2. Look for any missing functionality or server errors.

## Troubleshooting

- **Server Crashes on Startup**:
    
    
    - Verify the mod versions match your Minecraft server version.
    - Ensure all dependencies (like Fabric API) are installed.
