Resetting All Worlds on Your Minecraft Server
Resetting your server's world is useful if you want to start fresh or apply a new seed. This guide explains how to reset your Minecraft server world while preserving other server settings.
Resetting the World
If you do not with to lose your current world you should make a backup before proceeding.
Step 1: Stop Your Server
- From the Control Panel, navigate to the Console.
- Click Stop to safely shut down the server. This prevents any file corruption during the reset process.
Step 2: Delete the World Files
- Return to the Files section in the control panel.
- Delete the following folders:
worldworld_netherworld_the_end
If you’ve customized the world name in the server.properties file, ensure you delete folders corresponding to that name instead.
Step 3: Restart Your Server
- Return to the Console and click Start to launch your server.
- The server will generate a fresh world using the default seed or the custom seed specified in
server.properties.
Step 4: Verify the Reset
- Join your server to confirm the new world has been generated.
- If you’ve set a custom seed, you can verify it by typing
/seedin the chat (requires operator permissions).

Resetting the Nether
Resetting the Nether on your Minecraft server allows you to generate a new version of this dimension while keeping other parts of your world intact. This is helpful for refreshing resources or exploring new Nether features added in updates.
Step 1: Stop the Server
- In the Control Panel, go to the Console tab.
- Click Stop to safely shut down the server.
Step 2: Delete the Nether Folder
Step 3: Restart the Server
- Go back to the Console tab.
- Click Start to launch your server.
The server will generate a fresh Nether dimension when it starts.
Step 4: Verify the Reset
- Log in to your server.
- Enter a Nether portal to confirm the dimension has been reset and a new Nether has been generated.
