# Resetting the World

<p class="callout warning">If you do not with to lose your current world you should make a backup before proceeding. </p>

### Step 1: Stop Your Server

1. From the **Control Panel**, navigate to the **Console**.
2. Click **Stop** to safely shut down the server. This prevents any file corruption during the reset process.

### Step 2: Delete the World Files

1. Return to the **Files** section in the control panel.
2. Delete the following folders: 
    - `world`
    - `world_nether`
    - `world_the_end`

<p class="callout info">If you’ve customized the world name in the server.properties file, ensure you delete folders corresponding to that name instead.</p>

### Step 3: Restart Your Server

1. Return to the **Console** and click **Start** to launch your server.
2. The server will generate a fresh world using the default seed or the custom seed specified in `server.properties`.

### Step 4: Verify the Reset

1. Join your server to confirm the new world has been generated.
2. If you’ve set a custom seed, you can verify it by typing `/seed` in the chat (requires operator permissions).
